Welcome to the Bear Den

Our Goals   In the Bear Den, there are four general achievement groups: God, Country, Family, and Self. There are 120 achievement tasks and your Bear Cub must earn a certain number of achievements in each of the four groups to earn his Bear Badge.  This is the year your son will grow in amazing ways. After earning their Bear Badge, the scout may earn arrow points by completing additional achievement tasks.

Summary Much of the advancement for the Bear rank is done by the scout with his family outside of the den.  The parent signs off in the scout's handbook and the Den Leader records the advancements from the handbook in our tracking Software.  The Bear program relies heavily on family involvement, but you will see this gradually change with the scout doing more with his den and more individual direction as he graduates to Webelos.

Ready to join? Then you probably have some questions. Email Lisa at den3.pack742@gmail.com and leave your phone number and Diane will get back with you as soon as possible.

What the Bears are "Doing"...
  • Tigers are now the Wolves
    Hi Everyone!
After a great joining night last night, we have some new Scouts joining our Wolf Den!
The boys who were Tigers last year are now Wolves this year.

I have 5 sets of Hats and Scarves for Wolves, so if you don't have one yet, check with me.  They only use them for one year, so unless you want to keep it for a keepsake, feel free to use one of the ones we have already.  Send me (Chad) a note if you want one of these hat+scarf sets (den4.pack23@gmail.com).

Our first meeting will be either next Monday (9/21) or the following Monday (9/28).  I will update the schedule when I figure that out.

Welcome to a great year of Cub Scouts!
