Welcome back everyone!!

I hope everyone had a great summer!

We are excited about the upcoming year in Scouting!  A number of things have changed, and the program has changed to be a more hands-on activity-based one for the boys.  I think they are all going to really enjoy doing more in each meeting.

The Pack23 joining night is coming up next Monday, 9/14.  All the kids can make paper rockets and launch them off outside on the playground after pumping up the launcher with a tire pump!  It's a Blast!  8)

Parents can come learn about some of the changes in Cub Scouts this year in the lunch room, and get registered for the year.  Registration fee is $100 again this year.  If your son was in scouts last year you don't need to fill out a registration form.  If you are new to Scouts, you will need to fill out a one page form, and we will have them available.

The Northern Illinois area is putting on a large marketing and recruiting event called Blast Into Scouting.  They are giving all new scouts a small rocket kit and holding a giant launch day on Saturday, Oct 3.  Our pack is also joining in and each scout will get a rocket kit that we will build in our den meetings and all launch together on 10/3.

The Blast into Scouting registration and information night is Thursday 9/17 at each of the elementary schools in the area.  If you are new to Scouts, and miss the 9/14 meeting, feel free to stop by on 9/17 between 7pm and 8pm at Longfellow, Irving, or any of the other schools.
